Election Information
Schools are able to run for office at the Broward County Honor Society Convention. The requirements and rules when running for office are listed below. The Executive Committee encourages all capable Honor Society chapters to run for office. We would like to emphasize that elections are called elections for a reason, schools should be motivated to step forward and run against other schools as competition makes elections a more exciting process. If your school is skeptical about running, the Executive Committee encourages applying to Chair a Committee.
Requirements when running for Office
Any member school of the Broward County Honor Society may be considered for office if an intent-to-run letter, signed by the advisor and principal, is returned to the Broward Student Activities Office (via fax/pony/email) at least one week before convention. All candidate schools running for office must be in attendance at the Broward County Chapter Convention and have no previous financial debts. In the absence of previous candidate school nominations for offices, nominations for those offices will be accepted from the floor at convention. Schools should prepare to address members of BCHS and run a proper campaign.
